So, back a month or so ago, the piano bench fell on Libby's big toe. It turned black and blue and looked pretty awful. She's tough, she barely cried when it happened. However, the toe nail finally fell off a few days ago and that was worth the waterworks! (I think it was partly my fault because I did the whole "Ewww, gross!" when I saw it) Anyway, her toe looked awful and there was a tiny stub of a new nail way down at the bottom starting to grow but her toe had almost NO toe nail. So gross. So as Libby is saying her prayers that night, she prays that her toenail will be better by the morning. I better "back-story" this a bit: when we were camping Libby prayed that it wouldn't rain.... and it POURED! Since then she has been trying to convince me that Heavenly Father doesn't answer our prayers. (according to her, it even says so in the scriptures!) So, I'm all concerned that my poor daughter doesn't have a testimony of prayer, so I sit her down and tell her that Heavenly Father will fix her toenail and that it will grow back but she has to be patient and that Heavenly Father will have her toe back to normal by Halloween... or maybe Christmas. (seriously, I cut her toenails like once every few months!!) So. Imagine my surprise when she proudly shows me her beautiful new toenail two days later!!!! Seriously, I think I was a little too shocked; I know prayer works, but this was a minor miracle all for the sake of my daughter's testimony! I'm so happy Heavenly Father thought it was important enough to fix her toenail (and her belief in prayer). What a wonderful God we have!
Happy Halloween!

Wow Julie! That truly is a miracle! I got teary eyed reading it. Thanks for sharing. Your children are so sweet!
ReplyDeleteWow, that really is a miracle. I'm so happy for Libby. I didn't like all the detail about toes (shudder) but I'm so happy that Libby's prayer was answerered!

ReplyDeletei love this!
ReplyDeleteAhhh...that is just way to cute.
ReplyDeleteIt really is a miracle that it grew back that fast. Maybe I should get her to pray for me. ;) I'm so glad that she had that experience.
ReplyDeleteLoved that story, Julie. We do have a wonderful Heavenly Father who takes those small moments to build the testimonies of children. It was a big thing in Libby's life, and I am so glad she had that sweet little miracle.
